This is a 16 strand braid intended to be the cord for Japanese kicho screens my husband and are I making.

The colors are red/black/white to match the panels we plan to have. It is not only a very Japanese color set, but has the added benefit of being our household colors--useful as they will provide shade and privacy at Pennsic.

There will be in the end 8 braids (2 per screen), made on the marudai. Approximately 5-6 feet per braid. I chose the DMC satin as an affordable option that matched the sheen of the faux silk.
