Wysteria double hishi karakumi
This is a double hishi (diamond) karakumi (style of early period kumihimo, or Japanese braiding) done on a karakumidai.
The color scheme is based on the Heian kasane called Wysteria, which is white and graduated (murasaki) purples. It is worked with 48 strands on a karakumidai, using cotton DMC.
When finished, it will be a narrow belt, about 3/4 an inch wide and 8 feet long.
