Faux Majolica Plate
I made this plate for Adela's birthday back in 2006. It started as an inexpensive store bought blue plate, which I painted with over-fired ceramic paints to simulate the look of majolica. It's not perfect, but it's good enough for feast gear.

This paint is pretty durable, but it has gotten scratched a bit from knives over the years. The "EE" monogram is also a bit out of date, but I'm not going to be too picky. I don't remember anymore where exactly I got the source image from, but I believe it's 15th century, and I'm certain it's Italian. added by Lorenzo Petrucci on May 10 2009 |
